Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 am–6 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Paterson is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Paterson follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I had such a great experience with Alonzo auto repair . I brought my car in after a fender bender, and they handled everything from start to finish so smoothly. The front desk was super friendly and explained everything clearly — no pressure or confusing add-ons. They even helped me deal with my insurance, which made things way less stressful. The work itself was amazing — the paint matched perfectly, and my car looks like it just came off the lot. They also cleaned it inside and out before returning it, which was a really nice touch. The price was reasonable, and they finished right on schedule. It’s hard to find an honest, reliable body shop these days, but these guys really came through. I’d 100% recommend [Shop Name] to anyone who needs body or paint work done.

My car broke down on the way to work, and I was completely stressed out until I found Alonzo auto repair. From the moment I called, they were friendly, quick to help, and honest about everything. They diagnosed the problem right away a bad alternator and had it fixed by the next day. The mechanic explained things clearly without trying to upsell me, and the price was fair. When I picked up my car, it ran better than it had in months. I’m so grateful for their professionalism and kindness—definitely a shop I trust and will return to!

I had a really great experience at Alonzo Auto Repair & Auto Glass & Tires in Paterson, NJ, and I definitely recommend them if you're looking for reliable, no nonsense auto work at a fair price. I came in for a cracked side window and also needed a tire rotation and alignment check. From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly and professional. They took the time to listen to what I needed, gave me a clear breakdown of the costs, and didn’t try to upsell me on anything unnecessary which I really appreciated.
